4.50x + 40 = 112 <== ur equation
4.50x = 112 - 40
4.50x = 72
x = 72/4.5

Answer:

40 + (4.50n) = $112

Explanation:

Roger gets wages per day = $40.00

He earns commission for every pair of shoes he sells in a day = $4.50

His daily earning goal is = $112

Let the number of shoes he sells 'n'

The equation will be

40 + (4.50n) = $112

4.50n = 112 - 40

4.50n = 72

n = 72 ÷ 4.50

n = 16

He has to sell 16 pair of shoes.
