Represent the number of large and small cupcakes by x and y, respectively. The given conditions above can be expressed in the following equations,
x + y = 105
1.25x + 0.75y = 109.75
The values of x and y are x = 62 and y = 43.

The yearbook club therefore sold 62 large cupcakes. The answer is letter C.

That would be..........
C) 62

62 x 1.25 = 77.50

109.75 - 77.50 = 32.25
32.25 / .75 = 43
So, 62 large at 1.25 ea.
and 43 small at .75 ea.
