(x,y)
sub -3 for y and solv for x

4x+5(-3)=-7
4x-15=-7
add 15
4x=8
divide 4
x=2

Answer: The other half of the co-ordinate is 2.

Step-by-step explanation: Let, 'b' be the other half of the co-ordinate (?, -3) that lies on the given straight line as follows:

4x+5y=-7~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(i)

So, we can say that the point (b, -3) lies on the line (i). That is, the point (b, -3) will satisfy equation (i).

Substituting (x, y) = (b, -3) in equation (i), we get

4x+5y=-7\\\\\Rightarrow 4* b+5* (-3)=-7\\\\\Rightarrow 4b-15=-7\\\\\Rightarrow 4b=8\\\\\Rightarrow b=2.

Therefore, the value of 'b' is 2.

Thus, the other half of the co-ordinate is 2. And the complete co-ordiantes are (2, -3).
