grocery store : 2.80/8 = 0.35.....so its 35 cents per oz.----0.35(16) = 5.60 per lb
farmers market : 4.20/14 = 0.3...so its 30 cents per oz --- 0.30(16) = 4.80 per lb

5.60 - 4.80 = 0.80.....answer is : blueberries are 80 cents per pound less expensive at the farmers market

Answer:

Option C

Explanation:

16 ounces = 1 pound

Cost of blueberries at grocery store, 8 ounce = $2.80

8 ounce =
(8)/(16) = 0.5 pound

Cost of blueberries at grocery store per pound =
(2.80)/(0.5) = $5.60

Cost of blueberries at farmers market, 14 ounces = $4.20

14 ounces =
(14)/(16) = 0.875 pounds

Cost of blueberries at farmers market per pound =
(4.20)/(0.875) = $4.80

Per pound cost of blueberries at grocery store = $5.60

Per pound cost of blueberries at farmers market = $4.80

Difference between the cost = 5.60 - 4.80 = $0.80

So the option c is accurately compares the cost of blueberries. " Blueberries are $0.80 per pound less expensive at the farmer's market.
