The standard deviation is the square root of variance.

s = √variance

s = √256

s = 16

Standard deviation = 16

Answer: 16

Explanation:

We know that the standard deviation is the square root of the variance of a data.

Given : The variance of the data values in population is
\sigma^2=256.

Then, the standard deviation will be :_

\sigma=√(256)=√(16^2)=16

Therefore, the standard deviation of the data values= 16.
