The graph of f(x) = x2 has been shifted into the form f(x) = (x − h)2 + k. What is the value of K?

k is the number of units up or down the vertex of the graph was shifted.

Assuming that this is the graph

we can see that y = x^2 touch origin,

now it's shifted into (4, -2)

So the new equation woud be :

f(x) - 4 = (x + 2) ^2

f(x) = (x+2)^2 + 4 , .. . . .> which make k = 4

hope this helps
