You would isolate y, so to do this, you would divide everything by 8

Using the format y = mx + c, where m = slope.
8y = 2x + 4
y = 2x/8 + 4/8
y = x/4 + 1/2
y = (1/4)x + 1/2 comparing to y = mx + c
Slope, m = (1/4) = 0.25
