First let us find the slope.

Slope = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁)

For (-6, 7) and (-3, 6)

We take the first and second as (x₁ , y₁) and (x₂ , y₂)

Slope = (6 - 7) / (-3 - -6) = -1 / (-3 + 6) = -1/3

Using y = mx + c, Slope m = -1/3

Using the fact that the line would pass through point (-6, 7)

x = -6, y = 7

Following y = mx + c

7 = -(1/3)*(-6) + c

7 = 2 + c

2 + c = 7

c = 7 - 2

c = 5

Therefore y = mx + c, m = -1/3 c = 5

y = (-1/3)x + 5
