Probability of a good outcome is

(number of different good outcomes)
divided by
(total number of possible different outcomes).

With the 12-sided die, there are 12 total possible outcomes,
but only one of them that you like ... getting a 4 .

So the probability of success is 1/12 . . . about 8.3 percent.
