Putting the first equation into the second equation, we have
x - 2(2x - 3.5) = -14
x - 4x + 7 = -14
-3x = -21
x = 7
y = 2(7) - 3.5 = 14 - 3.5 = 10.5
Therefore the solution is (7, 10.5)
