They can test the temperature of the ground where the turtle eggs lays and develops during the stage before breaking out of its shell.

Good luck! :)

Answer:

In some of the species, like lizards, crocodiles, and turtles, the determination of gender is influenced by temperature. In case of turtles, the eggs turn into male when the temperature is less, and turn into females when the temperature is higher. Therefore, in order to hypothesize that the determination of gender in turtles is influenced by temperature, the scientist should expose the distinct groups of turtles into distinct sets of temperatures in a lab.
