(-1/2)x + 3 = -x + 7...multiply by -2 to get rid of fractions
x - 6 = 2x - 14
x - 2x = -14 + 6
-x = - 8
x = 8

Good evening

-1/2 x + 3 = -x + 7

Let's start solving this by subtracting x from both sides

-1/2 x + 3 - x = -x + 7 - x

-3/2 x + 3 = 7

Now again subtract 3 from both sides

-3/2 x + 3-3 = 7-3

-3/2 x = 4

Now multiply both sides by 2/-3

-3/2 x * 2/-3 = 4*2/-3

-6/-6 x = -8/3

x = -8/3

If you want to check if the answer is good just replace -8/3 everywhere you see x

So let's do it together :)

Replace -8/3 everywhere we find x

-1/2 (-8/3) + 3 = (-8/3) + 7

8/6 + 3 = ( -8+ 21 )/3

4/3 + 3 = 13/3

( 4+9)/3 = 13/3

13/3 = 13/3

So the answer is good

x= -8/3

Please if you have any question just let me know :)

It is my job to help you understand !
