Okay so first I'm going to find out how much I can multiply to find out their total.

Jasmine: 40 ÷ 8 = 5

Ricardo: 40 ÷ 4 = 10

Meaning I just have to multiply them by those

Ricardo: 40 hours = 72 cars

Jasmine: 40 hours = 210 cars

Money

8.50 x 72 = $612

8.50 x 210 = $1785

Difference

1785 - 612 = 1173

Meaning the difference in earnings is $1173

When you hear the word difference it's always subtraction

(sorry if I was rushing my class just finished which I'm doing it in I'll come back to review the answer and solution I gave you later)
