The body shivers to produce energy and it uses the energy to keep it warm. The body would stop shivering when it has produced enough energy to keep it warm and the atmosphere around it has got warmer

Answer: The internal temperature of the body is maintained by the phenomenon known as homeostasis.

Step-by-step explanation: Homeostasis is the phenomenon by which the internal temperature of the body is maintained.

Once the body feels cold, it starts shivering to maintain warmth in the body by the movement of skeletal muscles.

This phenomenon of maintaining the body temperature is known as Homeostasis. Once the body temperature is maintained shivering stops.
