Charles wants to determine which car is the fastest. The actual speed of four cars is shown below:

Cars A B C D
Speed (in km/h) 60.34 60.32 60.33 60.35

If the speedometer can only measure to the nearest tenth of a second, which car will have a different measurement?

D, If you round the numbers, they all round to 60, except for the last one, which rounds up to 61.

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that Charles wants to determine which car is the fastest. The actual speed of four cars is shown below:

Cars A B C D

Speed (in km/h) 60.34 60.32 60.33 60.35

Speed (in m/s) 16.761 16.755 16.758 16.763

Rounded off 16.76 16.76 16.76 16.76

When measured in km/hour, the order from least to greatest is

B, C, A and D

When measured in m/sec, when rounded off to nearest 10th we get

all are having equal speeds.
