How was Sacagawea helpful to Lewis and Clark and their expedition?

She knew some of the geographies they passed through, and she did interpret for them when they came across Shoshone-speaking Indians.

Sacagawea was a Native American woman of the Shoshoni tribe who accompanied Meriwether Lewis and William Clark during the eponymous expedition to explore North-West America. She traveled thousands of miles from North Dakota to the Pacific coast of Oregon between 1804 and 1806. Sacagawea not only helped as a guide, knowing the geography that surrounded them, but also gave them protection thanks to their knowledge in medicinal and healing plants.
