Answer: 12 meters

Explanation:

Let the width of the rectangle be w.

Then the length of the rectangle will be 2+3w

We know that the perimeter of a rectangle is given by :-

\text{P}=2(l+w), where l is length and w is width of the rectangle.

Now, according to the question, we have

2(w+2+3w)=100\\\\\Rightarrow2(2+4w)=100\\\\\Rightarrow\ 4+8w=100\\\\\Rightarrow\ 8w=96\\\\Rightarrow w=12\ \text{meters}

Hence, the width of the rectangle = 12 meters
