A dinner bill of $31.37 had 6% tax added to that total. Let's solve for the amount of the tax:
=> 31.37 dollars * 0.06 = 1.8822 dollars is the tax which is 6%. Can be rounded to 1.88.
=> 31.37 - 1.8822 = 29.4878 is the original price
