Jason built a rectangular tool shed that is 8 meters wide and has an area of 96 square meters. What is the length of Jason’s tool shed?

Area of rectangle is equal to multiply the length by wide.

where

A is the area of the rectangle

l is the length of the rectangle and

w is the width of the rectangle.

As per the given statement:

Width of rectangular tool(w) = 8 meters

Area of rectangular tool(A) = 96 square meters

By definition:


A = lw

Substitute the given values we have;


96 = l(8)

Divide both sides by 8 we get;

12 meter = l

Therefore, the length of Jason's tool is, 12 meters
