As the number of gallons increases so does the number of milkshake and vice versa. As such, this is a proportional relationship.

If 3/4 gallons of milk can be used to make 12 milkshakes, then 30 milkshake will be made from

= 30/12 * 3/4

= 5/2 * 3/4

= 15/8 gallons

Alternatively

If 3/4 gallons of milk can be used to make 12 milkshakes then 1 gallon of milk can be used to make

= 12 * 4/3

= 16 milkshakes

Hence 30 milk shakes will be made from

= 30/16 * 1

= 15/8 gallons of milk
