According to the given situation, we have to use the following formula to find the answer to this question.

P(B\cup M)=P(B)+P(M)-P(B\cap M)

In this case, P(B) is the probability of the students who like baseball, P(M) the probability of the students who like music and P(B∩M) is the intersection, it means, the probability of the students who like both. The probability of the students who like baseball or music is represented by P(B∪M) and this is what we are going to find.

Replace for the given values and find P(B∪M):

P(B\cup M)=0.5+0.6-0.7=0.4

The probability that students like baseball or music is 0.4.

The correct answer is b.
