Joshua has made 90% of the lay-up baskets he has attempted at basketball practice.

A. What is the probability that he will make the next three lay-up baskets he attempts? Express your answer as a decimal.


B. Write the equation you used to find this answer.

C. What does each piece of your equation represent?

A. So you know that he has a 0.9 chance of getting the basket each individual time. So just do 0.9^3 (0.9x0.9x0.9) which comes out as 0.729.

B. Oops. 0.9^3

C. The 0.9 represents the chance of getting it in the basketball net. The "cubed" represents that he attempts the shot three times.
