What is the difference between discrete and continuous data? (Bar charts)

Discrete data can be numeric like numbers of apples.and it can be categorical too as well. Like red or blue, male or female, and good or bad. Continuous data are not restricted to defined seperate values. But it can occupy any value over a continuous range. Hope this is helpful !! :) An example for continuous data would be : Example: the results of rolling 2 dice: can only have the values 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12
