The first problem
x-4 / 2x-8
x-3 / 5x
What you would do for this is cross equation the whole thing by;
1x-4=5x
1x-3=2x-8
The 1x's cancel out and
-4=5x
-3=2x-8
-7=7x-8
+8= +8
1 =7x
then divide 7x by 1 and your answer for that one would be x=1.

And then the second problem
3x / 2x+5
x-3 / (x+2)(x-3)
You would solve by;
first combining like terms which are the ones in parenthesis and you would get;
3x=2x-6
x-3=2x+5
The 2x's cancel out
3x=-6
x-3=5
+3 +3
4x=8
Then you would divide both sides by 4 and get x=2 as your answer.

Sorry it took me so long I was double checking my work. But I hope it helps!
