The given equation is

-8=(k-4)/(-6)

→ At first, multiply both sides by - 6 to cancel the denominator on the right side

\begin{gathered} \because-8*-6=((k-4))/(-6)*-6 \\ \therefore48=k-4 \end{gathered}

→ Now add 4 to both sides to move (-4) from the right side to the left side

\begin{gathered} \because48+4=k-4+4 \\ \therefore52=k+0 \\ \therefore52=k \end{gathered}

The value of k is 52
