Being injected with a weakened form of the disease will help strengthen his immune system and make his body immune to the disease.

being exposed to a weakened form of the virus allows your immune system to adapt to that virus and learn how to overcome it, without actually becoming sick. should your brother get the virus, his immune system will know how to handle it.
