y = - 2 x - 2

Subsititute y = - 2 x - 2 :

[ (- 2 x - 2 ) = x + 4 ]

( - 2 x - 2 ) = x + 4

Add 2 to both sides:

- 2 x - 2 + 2 = x + 4 + 2

- 2 x = x + 6
