Answer:

Since U is the midpoint of XY,
XU = UY\\or, 6x-7 = 4x+9\\or, 6x - 4x = 7+9\\or, 2x = 16\\or, x = 8\\XY = XU +UY = 6x - 7 + 4x +9 = 10x+2 = 10(8) +2 = 82
