To figure out the tax in any cost, you simply take the original cost, and multiply it by the tax which is written as 0.05, since it's in percent. once you get your answer, take the original cost and add on to the product you calculated before. ex 0.05 * 49.95 = 2.4975, now add the original price to the product: 2.4975 + 49.95 = 52.4475. Now just take your final answer and round it the proper decimal place which is to the hundredths place: $52.45. Therefore your final price is $52.45.
