I think the correct answer is D. During a phase change, even though energy is being added to the material, the temperature of the materiel does not actually change.

Answer: Option (D) is the correct answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

When we heat a solid substance then its particles will gain kinetic energy. As a result, they start moving from one place to another leading to collisions.

Therefore, solid substance will start to change into liquid state.

During this phase change temperature will remain constant until all the solid will not change completely into liquid state.

And, when temperature increase after completely going into liquid state then molecules will gain more kinetic energy. Due to this liquid state will start to change into vapor state and again temperature will remain constant during this phase change that is, liquid to vapor phase.

Thus, we can conclude that phase changes are not associated with a change in temperature.
