Rate of change is usually what it means so you have to put the equation as y=mx+b

y in terms of x means
what is y, if you know x?
basically it is
y=somethingwithxinit
example

3+y=2x
to express y in terms of x, solve for y
subtract 3
y=2x-3
tat is y in terms of x
if you wanted x in terms of y, then solve for x

in terms of y means solve for y
