The laws of conservation say that mass and energy can be neither created nor destroyed, although they may be transformed.

Write a scientific explanation describing how the processes of photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and the carbon cycle follow these laws.

The carbon atom changes from a solid structure to a gas but its mass does not change. Similarly, the law of conservation of energy states that the amount of energy is neither created nor destroyed.

The law states that, despite chemical reactions or physical transformations, mass is conserved — that is, it cannot be created or destroyed — within an isolated system. In other words, in a chemical reaction, the mass of the products will always be equal to the mass of the reactants.
