Final answer:

HIV infections can be acquired through sexual contact with infected individuals. Discrimination against those with HIV/AIDS is a reality, but the virus cannot be spread through casual social contact.

Step-by-step explanation:

Reality: HIV infections can be acquired through sexual contact only with people who are infected with the virus. Uninfected individuals cannot transmit the virus. Homosexual contact is not necessary for the virus to be spread. In fact, most transmissions of HIV occur through heterosexual contacts.

Myth: HIV/AIDS was created by scientists, either accidentally or deliberately.

Fact: Discrimination against those with HIV/AIDS continues to be a problem, with people facing challenges such as being fired from jobs, evicted from homes, and being separated from loved ones. However, there is no evidence that AIDS can be spread by casual social contact.

Those people who are facing HIV/AIDS are yes faced with discrimination however, a reason and sympathy to these victims will also help enhance their current situation. Instead of putting the blame and making these individuals sulk in shame, as humane individuals we should also properly promote social and emotional support, enabling them to be empowered despite this tragic circumstance.
