the answer is 28
when a number is attached by a variable, that usually means that it is attached by multiplication so, i multiplied 9 times 7 and got 63 then i multiplied 5 times 7 and got 35 then subtract 63 and 35 and i got 28
i hope this helps :)

Hi there!

To solve your answer, since we know a = 7, we can easily solve your equation.

But before we go onto that, I want to show you a tip or two about solving equations with variables next to numbers.

When you have a number, and a variable attached to it, it means to multiply.

Now, to make this equation look a little easier, lets rewrite it.

9 × 7 - 5 × 7 = ___

According to PEMDAS, we won't go straight from left-to-right when solving here. We'll skip around a little.

9 × 7 = 63.

5 × 7 = 35.

Now, since we've multiplied the two numbers, its time to subtract them.

63 - 35 = 28. Sooooo........

9 × 7 - 5 × 7 = 28

Hope this helps!

Message me if you need anything else, I'd be happy to help you out! :D
