Answer: a) 3/5 =0.6

b) 3/5 of given speed=39 miles per hour

Given :- Speed of a car= 65 miles per hour

Going through construction,it travels at 3/5 this speed.

Now 3/5 of speed =
(3)/(5)*65\text{ miles per hour}\\=0.6*65\text{ miles per hour}..........\text{[Convert 3/5 in decimal by dividing 3 with 5]}\\=39\text{ miles per hour}

Therefore, 3/5 of given speed=39 miles per hour

The decimal equivalent of 3/5 is 0.6 .

(0.6) x (65 mi/hr) = 39 mi/hr
