1. You might know the class of someone in Renaissance Era Europe by their clothes or special family colors they might wear to indicate their social status.

2. Many noble families married into eachother to ensure that their money remained with them and not allowing the poor to work their way up the social latter. Eventually, this lead to a lot of inbreeding and birth defects.
