I will show you how to do #1.
So 25% is equal to 1/4 and 56 is the whole what you are finding is the part so to set it up. You do this:
1/4=x/56
Then you solve for x and to do this you can do cross-multiply and divide which is 56 times 1=56 and 56 divide by 4= 14
So the answer to #1 is 14 which is the part
So to solve these you do percent/100=part/whole
So in this problem 25 was the percent over 100 and I simplified making it 1/4 and then I put 1/4 was equal to x/56 because we knew the whole and not the part and the part was x
If that makes any sense.
