Answer:
(1)/(4)

Explanation:

Given : There are 12 pieces of fruit in a bowl.

Seven of the pieces are apples and two are peaches.

i.e. The combined number of pieces of apples and peaches =7+2=9

Pieces of fruit are neither apple nor peach = 12-9=3

Now, the probability that a randomly selected piece of fruit will not be an apple or a peach will be :-

=\frac{\text{Total number of pieces are not either apples or peach}}{\text{Total pieces of fruits}}\\\\=(3)/(12)\\\\=(1)/(4)

Hence, the probability thaat a randomly selected piece of fruit will not be an apple or a peach=
(1)/(4)
