ok so this is the equaiton of a porabola
also, the number of roots/xintercept<degree of the equation
this equation is 2n degree (highest power=2)

so we can factor it and find te roots
x intercept is when y=0 so
0=16x^2-8x+1
factor
0=(4x-1)(4x-1)
since the 2 roots are the same, there is 1 solution, ie. there is one intersection of the x axis the bottom of the parabola is tangent to the x axis)
