Explain how the number of pieces in a whole relates to the size of each pieces

The number of species in a whole represents the whole of the species. They are related with each other. For example, you cannot call a society without the people living in that area because the people represents the society. Another example, you cannot call mathematics as a subject without the formulas and numbers present in it.
