Suppose that 1500 volcanoes on the earth surface are active. If 80% of this volcanoes are located at convergent tectonic plate boundaries how many active volcanoes are located at convergent boundaries?

This is actually a Maths question - although is it related to geography.

In order to calculate this, we simply need to find out how many is 80% of 1500, like this:


`(80)/(100) *1500=8*15=4*30=120`


So the answer is: 120 volcanoes are located in this area!
