You run the length of a 100-yard football field, as well as the 2 end zones that are 10 yards each. It takes you 40 seconds to run the entire distance. How many yards per second do you run?

Well, the equation for speed is
Speed=Distance/Time (S=D/T)

So, if you travel 100 yards +10 yards +10 yards=120 yards
S=120 yards/ 40 seconds
Speed=3 yards per second
You are running 3 yards per second

3 yards per second. First, you add to get your total distance (120 yards) then you divide by time (40 seconds) to get 3 yards per second.
