$15.86

1) Considering that a grocery store sells steaks at this price, we can write out the following ratios:

\begin{gathered} lb------\$ \\ 1------6.10 \\ 2(3)/(5)-----x \end{gathered}

Notice that for our convenience, we can convert that Mixed Number into an Improper Fraction following this procedure:

2(3)/(5)=(5*2+3)/(5)=(13)/(5)

2) Now we can write out the following ratios, and then cross multiply them:

\begin{gathered} (1)/((13)/(5))=(6.1)/(x) \\ x=6.1*(13)/(5) \\ x=15.86 \end{gathered}

Note that we dealt with decimal numbers and fractions.

3) Hence, the price of 2 3/5 lbs of steak is $15.86
