3a+2(4a-1)=9
Step 1: Simplify Equation
Distribute:
3a+(2)(4a)+(2)(-1)=9
3a+8a-2=9
Combine Like Terms:
(3a+8a)+(-2)=9
11a-2=9
Step 2: Add 2 to both sides
11a-2=9
+2 +2
11a = 11
---- ----
11 11
a = 1
