Find the value of y if B is between A and C, AB= 2y, BC= 6y, and AC = 48

I'll draw to help you understand:

AB = 2y and BC = 6y, so AB+BC = AC

Also: 2y+6y = 48

8y = 48

y = 48/8

y = 6

Answer: Letter C
