The formula for kinetic energy is ...

K.E. = (1/2) (mass) (speed²) .

For the object in this question ...

K.E. = (1/2) (44 kg) (10 m/s)²

= (22 kg) (100 m²/s²)

= 2,200 kg-m²/s²

= 2,200 Joules .

(That's the fourth choice on the list.)

E = 0.5mv^2 = 0.5*44*10^2 = 2200J
