Solution:

Given:

Two similar figures (rectangles),

The ratio of similarity between any two similar figures is the ratio of any pair of corresponding sides.

All the pairs of corresponding sides have the same ratio.

Thus, a rectangle has both length and width.

\begin{gathered} \text{The dimension of the smaller rectangle;} \\ \text{length}=2 \\ \text{width}=1 \\ \\ \text{The dimension of the bigger rectangle,} \\ \text{length}=4 \\ \text{width}=2 \end{gathered}

Taking the ratios of the corresponding sides,

\begin{gathered} \text{The ratio of the large : small rectangle considering their lengths is;} \\ 4\colon2,\text{ in simplest form, 2:1} \\ \\ \text{The ratio of the large : small rectangle considering their width is;} \\ 2\colon1 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the similarity ratio (large to small) of the similar figures is 2 : 1
