So full price plus the sales tax equal out to $264.6. With the sale it would be $224.91. With the coupon, it would be $239.6 so the better deal would be the 15% off

Answer:

Offer of 15%-off would be a better deal to Hubert.

Explanation:

Hubert wants to buy a car tire.

The price of tire = $245.00

and sale tax = 8%

The total price of the tire =
245+((8)/(100)*245)

= 245 + (245 × 0.08)

= 245 + 19.60 = $264.60

He has two offers on it, a 15%- off sale or a $25.00 coupon.

(1) The price would be on $25.00 coupon = $264.60 - 25.00 = $239.60

(2) The price on 15%-off sale would be = 245 - (15% of 264.60)

245 - (0.15 × 264.60) = 245 - 39.69 = $225.11

Therefore, offer of 15%-off would be a better deal to Hubert.
