Answer:

45

Explanation:

30 8th graders signed up.

9 dropped out.

21 8th graders are left.

21 students is 46 2/3% of the total number of students.

Let the total number of students = x

46 2/3% of x = 21

(46 2/3)/100 × x = 21

(46 2/3)x = 2100

(140/3)x = 2100

x = 2100 × 3/140

x = 45

Answer: 45
