A dependent clause is a group of words that has both a subject and a verb but cannot stand alone as a sentence. An EXAMPLE would be: BECAUSE the door was open. WHEN is started raining. UNTIL your father gets home.

Dependent clause are dependent on the rest of the sentence, they can't stand alone.
